Feel The Heat

Feel The Heat

The temperatures are rising and that means minimal clothing is needed to endure this heat.
Inevitably, the Birkenstocks are back so give your Havianas a rest this summer and try a different look. I would also recommend to invest in some arm bling seeing as the minimalistic look will most likely end up rather plain. Designer sunglasses, bags and a summer hat are absolutely essential - they'll dress up any outfit!

Stripe My World

There is no denying that our 90s friend, stripe trend, is back and staying. From T by Alexander Wang, and Proenza Schouler to our own Australian Nicholas, to name a few, are presenting us with this comeback trend in many shapes and sizes on a silver platter.
Evidently, it goes along with pretty much anything, colours, patterns, more stripes - you name it.
I personally think that this Asos skirt is abit edgier than most seeing as the black stripes are becoming narrower as we move south. It's a great way to add that bit of classy to your everyday look!

Meticulously crafted, T by Alexander Wang's 2014 resort collection is grasping onto the key elements of both winter and summer fashion. It comes as no surprise that Mr Wang is challenging the definition of seasonal wearables and their defined state in the consumer market's minds. Applying knit and leather materials to shorts, mini skirts and dresses enables these designs to be worn all year round.

Black & a Hint of Gold

Black and a Touch of Gold

Outfit inspiration for the weekend - you can never go wrong with black and a couple of classics.

Ms Birger

Growing ever so popular during this year's Paris fashion week, By Malene Birger had been seen on bloggers from Fashion Toast to Camille Over The Rainbow and made me want to have a piece!
The moment this fedora hat sat still on my head I knew this was a new level of fedora standard, the inside is made out of satin so it is not as harsh on your hair as your average fedoras that are made out of wool. The shape is so unique, it is consistent in the sense that it doesn't move much however when you look at it from different angles it provides completely different looks. To sum up - I'm in fedora heaven!

Keeping Warm

Got to love snuggly day-wear such as this thick scarf from Kookai on a cold Melbourne day, a piece which never disappoints as it is not only great at keeping me warm but also compliments many other staples in my wardrobe.

It may seem surprising but I find that warm / cold wardrobe colour palettes impact the way you feel and therefore in winter I often choose to wear more vibrant lively colours as oppose to the blues and greens.

Overall this is a good way to up-do a casual outfit - replace your jersey leggings with leather or leather like material, put away the monotone flats and get some pattern / vivid coloured ones and add on a staple scarf and clutch whose colour can match various other colours in your wardrobe (my suggestion: either earthy or your blacks/whites/greys).

Day to Night with Leather Track Pants

Day to Night with Leather Track Pants

A simple way of turning your leather track pants (which we all should have by now.. Ahem!) from a day to day garment to a night time standout piece.

I have seen leather pants change from skinny to oversized, bell shaped and cropped and which ever way it goes - it always dresses up an outfit. Therefore to bring it down a notch during the day its best to accompany with a basic garment that has a twist such as a cropped length, an interesting pattern or a unique texture.

Pointy heels are edgy (literally!) and continue to come back in style time and time again. Thus I would definitely recommend to invest in both a flat and heeled pair, it adds an advantage to any outfit by looking more sophisticated and upperclass.

Original Vs Clone

T by Alexander Wang Knit Sleeve Tweed Print Hoodie

Sportsgirl Rib Hoodie

Often I find there are many aesthetically basic garments that are slightly overpriced due to the name on the label. Sometimes, if us bargain hunters are lucky, a lower-cost retailer will release a similar version.
In this case, this snuggly knit sleeve tweed print hoodie from T by Alexander Wang comes at a price of $290.00 compared to the recently released rib hoodie from Sportsgirl retailing at $79.95!

Which one would you choose?
